‘Django Unchained Original Motion Picture Soundtrack’ (2013)

Quentin Tarantino’s soundtracks, like his films, are of master craftsmanship. The soundtrack for Django Unchained is not limited to one genre; it covers many, many different styles. Tracks vary from classic Ennio Morricone Western pieces to Rick Ross hip-hop.

For me, each track is placed perfectly within the film. The opening title track “Django” is one of the highlights for sure. Morricone’s “The Braying Mule” will forever remind me of Dr. King Schultz’s tooth, wobbling through the Old Western streets. The track “Freedom” is also a strong addition when played behind Django and his wife escaping slavers.

Tarantino’s soundtrack is what cements Django Unchained in my top 5 favourite films, therefore it had to earn a space in my collection. Favourite track: Django.
